ASOCIACIÓN DE INVESTIGACIÓN DE LAS INDUSTRIAS DEL CURTIDO Y ANEXAS. (AIICA) – RESEARCH ASSOCIATION OF TANNING AND RELATED INDUSTRIES

AIICA is Spain’s tanning technology centre and has a staff of 25, providing a wide range of quality services to the country’s tanning industry and also internationally. The experience of this research laboratory dates back to 1962 and among its staff are doctors in chemistry, chemists, biologists and leather specialists. It also provides the pilot plant for the project. These facilities are based in Igualada, with premises built over 3,000 square metres in which over 30 Spanish and European cooperative projects are accommodated, many of them related with environmental aspects of the tanning industry.

AIICA forms part of the Group of European Research Centres GERIC, and is the nominated representative of the Spanish Leather Trade Association on international standards committees, with several different accreditations and certifications.
